I’m a Jack-of-all-trades with experience across the board – something you’ll only find in an old-timer. However, in these enlightened times of specialisation, if you've dealt with web developers who lack design skills, or graphic designers who've had to outsource illustration briefs or refer you to a mate who does web design, at least I can provide you with a single source of accountability.

Video

What I Can Do

A short, relevant video can work wonders for your marketing credibility and visibility. You can display it on your website, upload it to YouTube, or even show it on a screen in your reception area. I can also produce instructional videos for product installation or operation.

A common complaint I hear is the extra cost of combining the talents of multiple specialists. Not to mention, the need for repetitive briefs and coordinating the outcomes, which usually falls on the client.

What I Can Do

Anyone can create a website. Draft a list of your services in Word and save it as HTML... done! Alternatively, you can select from the numerous online DIY website services. The decision is yours. However, is a free or discounted web presence truly doing your professional organisation justice? There are countless options available to you in the 'web design' arena, and I'm just one among many. But how many can meet the following briefs?

  • Custom icons and graphics tailored for your company and website (usable elsewhere)
  • Over 20 years of web design experience

I can brand a business, design its logo, create brochures and point-of-sale material, develop product packaging, design the signage for the premises, create vehicle wraps, build the website, write the marketing copy, produce the launch video, and come up with a slogan for the staff T-shirts. Oh, and perhaps I could also create some unique animations to help distinguish your website from your competitors.

What I Can Do

I've been illustrating since the '70s, and I've been doing so with computer software since 1989. I have created everything from speculative house and subdivision plans to 6-metre murals for reception areas in Wellington's CBD. People often ask me to transform old faxed diagrams into crisp, new vector art, or to create an explanatory drawing for a client's product.

  • Explanatory diagrams and sequences
  • Photoshop enhancements of essential company images (like removing staff or updating the logo on the side of the company ute)
  • Design a logo based on a sketch created by the CEO's 9-year-old daughter (and yes, I've done this)

Or... I can handle simple briefs, like producing a quick logo that's better than the free AI logos available online, but not as expensive as what that city agency quoted.

What I Can Do

Effective branding is crucial for anyone looking to create a professional public image. A $20 AI-generated logo from the internet might seem like a smart investment—until someone highlights a competitor using the same logo. Branding includes everything your company stands for, from product names to vehicle selection.

  • Work to a budget – crucial for cash-strapped start-ups
  • Advise on more than just the logo, colours, and font
  • More than 30 years of branding experience

Or discreetly tidy up the brochure that your well-meaning teenage daughter made for you a year ago (adding an apostrophe to 'YOUR IN FOR A TREAT')

What I Can Do

Graphic design is the one tool to rule them all. A skilled designer can seamlessly integrate branding, packaging, vehicle signage, and web presence to provide a cohesive package to your customers.

As a jack-of-all-trades, I'm not bound by conventional expectations. Throughout the years, I've been tasked with designing train livery, branding and naming new subdivisions, and creating displays for expos.
